Residents in Swindon have not disappointed with their spooky decorations this Halloween.

From inflatable witches and ghosts to fairy lights, smoke machines and pumpkins, these are some of the best displays in town ready to scare the trick-or-treaters.

Comet Way, Alexandra Park, Wroughton

This house on Comet Way has a very impressive fairy light display and a friend of the property owner told us it has taken her and her children several weeks to get the decorations ready in time for Halloween.

Locals pop round every year to take a look, as the display grows every Halloween.

Many people have already seen the spectacular display at number 130 Kingshill Road, but there is more to be seen in the ‘creepy allotment’ in the back garden.

From 5:30pm, Claire Cox welcomes people in to the scare maze, full of animatronics, inflatables and her family dressed up ready to give trick or treaters a fright – all for a fantastic charity.

She is raising money for SANDS, which supports anyone affected by the death of a baby.  Claire has been putting on the display for several years, but hopes to reach her goal of raising £1,000 this year. Any donation is welcome.

Sparcells, Kishorn Close

Perhaps not as scary as the other displays but these decorations are very festive and Autumnal. The different-sized pumpkins look great, but the Mickey Mouse ones steal the show.

This is the perfect display to visit if you're looking for something less scary!

Candice Pridden, her partner Josh and their five children aged between four months and 14 all play a part in scaring their neighbours every Halloween. They really have thought of everything with this display and the caution tape and bin bags shaped like bodies are particularly creepy.

Howse Gardens  (Image: Candice Pridden) Candice said: “We decided after covid and the first year of being able to do Halloween again we wanted to make our children and others smile, laugh and have a good night, so we put up some decorations and we decided to have our oldest son dress up and pretend to be a statue. He would jump out and move to scare people and everyone loved it.

“There was such a great atmosphere and soon the word got round and we had lines of people coming to get a little scare. We decided each year we would add a little bit more. And it has now turned into a yearly event of scaring our local neighbourhood.

My two oldest sons, Spencer and Jaydon, can't wait to help scare the families as they come. It's become a real family tradition.”

Cricklade Ladymead

If you dislike clowns then look away because this spooky display by Lewis Christie in Cricklade is full of them! His house looks fantastic with a range of decorations from skeletons, cobwebs, spiders and pumpkins and it looks even better lit up at night.

Cricklade Ladymead  (Image: Lewis Christie) Lewis is ready to control the animatronic clowns and skeletons to make them move when they trick or treaters knock on the door and he says the display took him four days to create.

He said: "We also have a smoke machine that will be out later to add an extra spooky feel."

These are just a handful of the amazing displays Swindon residents put on.
