Damage has been done to a road near a primary school by a car crash that “took out” two bollards.
An eyewitness reported that a Mini crashed outside Catherine Wayte Primary School in Abbey Meads, Swindon, around 6.30pm on October 30.
Having knocked down two metal bollards, it was described as facing the wrong way in a bush past the pavement on the same side of the road as the school.
They added that the bollards were "wrecked" and the car "a write-off."
A cordon remained around midday on October 31, erected by the council, surrounding an area of damaged tarmac pavement where presumably bollards used to stand.
People took to Facebook to share their confusion about how the car had ended up in such a predicament.
One said: “I saw it and my mind boggled at how on earth it ended up in that position.”
Wiltshire Police and Swindon Borough Council have both been contacted for comment.
