It looks old from the outside, with its thatched roof that seems to reach for the ground, and the inside appears no different.

House writes: “Grade II listed, the cottage has an abundance of character and charm including the original bread ovens that are nestled in the corner of the inglenook fireplaces.”
The bread ovens are little more than niches in the wall, but with its wood burners it could make for an experimental breakfast to try baking a loaf in the holes.
The house was grade II listed in 1979 and dates from the 17th century.
Despite the old building, the agent maintains that it is packed with all the latest mod-cons.
It writes: “The cottage has been painstakingly restored and now benefits from modern conveniences that blend seamlessly with the older parts of the building.”
Starting downstairs you enter a sitting room with sofas and one of the two woodburners (and accompanying bread oven).

Next door is a small dining room, where the roof seems to sag onto the heads of the diners under the weight of the centuries.
The kitchen itself has light baby blue counters and units, with wooded work surfaces and floral curtains. Brass taps and tiles add to the ‘cottagey’ feel - appropriate for a cottage.
A large conservatory looks out onto the garden, with tall windows and a glass ceiling that are sure to let the room become toasty.
The garden has a raised lawn, and an even more raised bench at the back from where you can sit at the same height as the bottom of your roof - not a common opportunity.
Despite the squat appearance of the house it has two floors, with four beds and two bathrooms. There is also a double garage
Some of these bedrooms are upstairs, where the walls curve in with the thatched roof and the large beams remind you of the structure’s venerable history.
Wroughton itself is described as providing “an extensive range of amenities” including Swindon proper 2.2 miles to the north.
It ends: “Nearby is the beautiful historic Clouts Wood, which contains many footpaths and bridleways making it ideal for walking, riding and other country pursuits.”
