A power cut has wiped out electricity in multiple Swindon homes, causing concern as daylight fades.
The power cut, which hit Swindon just before 2pm on Friday, November 1, is currently affecting 24 homes Tattershall as well as residents using Great Western Way, and Toothill Park.
According to Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) this is caused by a fault in the underground network.
But the electricity company has been unable to give an estimated time of when power might return, after over an hour of waiting for engineers to arrive on site.
With the sun now setting as early as 4.40pm, this has created some concern.

"We're aware of a fault on our local network affecting several homes," said a spokesperson for SSEN.
"This means that some neighbours will be affected by the power cut but not all.
"We are in the process of arranging engineers to get to the area to investigate the issue and attempt to restore power.
"A fault on the underground network is the most common type of fault we see and our team is very experienced in dealing with these issues.
"In most cases, our engineers are able to get the power back on by simply replacing a fuse at the local substation."
