Residents of a Wiltshire town are being urged to allow more travel time than usual as temporary traffic lights are set to cause delays.

The manual traffic controls will be in place on Masons Lane in Bradford on Avon from 9.30am to 4.3pm on Sunday, November 3.

This is to allow Wiltshire Council to carry out essential tree works to ensure the safety of the area.

The temporary lights will affect motorists travelling from the road's junction with Market Street to its junction with Mount Pleasant.

This is likely to cause particular issues around the morning and evening rush hours, as congestion is common on Masons Lane during these times even without the temporary traffic measures.

"Please avoid the area if you can and if you have to travel in the area, expect some delays.

"Please note this is Sunday only – there are no works taking place on Saturday and the work will be completed on Sunday.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential work."
