Good Samaritans have been praised online for their actions in stopping an alleged assault in Swindon.
The incident is said to have taken place in Old Town Car Park on Saturday night.
An anonymous poster, who appears to have been the victim of the alleged incident, took to the Swindon Community Notice Board to address the strangers who stepped in.

They said: "I hope you realise the huge difference your intervention made that night. I can't remember what I said at the time, I don't know if you've since been told what happened before you arrived, or what he said he was about to do to me. But I want you to know that the choice you made to double back and check the situation is something I am so, so grateful for.
"You didn't know me and yet when you realised I needed help, you stepped in without hesitation. It's only just sinking in how differently it could have been if you hadn't been there. I really can't put into words how truly thankful I am.
"And to the two women you were with, who held me and stayed with me, who didn't leave my side until I was safe with the police. I didn't get the chance to say anything before you left, but thank you for being so kind and compassionate."
Members of the public reacted to the post to praise the actions described, with one writing 'real heroes don't wear capes'."
