Last month the Advertiser reported that Prospect would be opening a second charity shop in Old Town at The Victoria Centre at 138-139 Victoria Road, which has been empty since February 2024 after Swindon Tuition Centre decided to relocate.
The Prospect Hospice charity will take over the total 1,256 sq ft space for an asking price of £12,000 per annum, as advertised by commercial property specialists Kilpatrick & Co.
A sign in the vacant Commercial Road unit confirmed the books and media store would be relocating to the new site in Old Town, with the date to be announced soon.
Prospect Hospice already has a charity shop at 97-98 Victoria Road in Old Town as well as shops across Swindon, including Tadpole Garden Village, Regent Street, Penhill, Highworth and Wroughton and a furniture store in Stratton.
