Police helicopters rushed to a residential street in Swindon after reports of knife threats in an aggravated burglary.

Just after midnight on Wednesday, October 30, Wiltshire Police received reports of a burglary at a property in Blunsdon St Andrew, Swindon, involving a knife.

According to the occupants of the property on Batsford Crescent, three to four young people used a crowbar to smash a glass door and break into the home.

A large knife was then used to threaten the occupants before the group fled the scene in what is believed to be a white estate car with a black roof.

The terrifying incident sparked a huge emergency response, as police helicopters and police dogs rushed to the scene to search the area.

Now one week on from the burglary, officers who have gone door to door gathering information are appealing to the public to help with enquiries.

"We are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary in Blunsdon St Andrew, Swindon," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
