A driver has been arrested on the spot after police stopped and searched a car on the Magic Roundabout in Swindon.
Swindon's Central South Neighbourhood Policing Team took to the town's roads on Friday, November 8 to conduct a high visibility traffic operation in the Broadgreen area.
But while out conducting checks, officers spotted one driver who they believed to be using their mobile phone while driving across the Magic Roundabout.
After stopping the driver, officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming from the car and a stop and search soon revealed a quantity of cannabis inside.
The driver also tested positive for cannabis in a roadside drugs test, and immediate action was taken.

The driver has now been arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed limit of drugs.
PC Butwell, who lead the arrest, said: “Driving whilst using a mobile phone or whilst under the influence of drugs are both illegal.
"Both greatly increase the risk of an accident with devastating consequences.
"Mobile phone use and driving under the influence of drugs are two of the fatal five, which are proactively enforced by the Roads Policing Unit and local officers."
The other 'fatal five' offences Wiltshire Police warn about include driving without a seatbelt, speeding and careless or dangerous driving.
