Officers from the Royal Wootton Bassett Neighbourhood Team were deployed to Stoneover Lane and Nore Marsh Road to conduct speed checks on Tuesday, November 5.

They joined a Wiltshire Police Speed Enforcement Team and multiple drivers were caught breaking the 30mph speed limit in Stoneover Lane, near the junction with the A3102 Swindon Road.

The latest checks come after a rise in speeding drivers being caught around Wiltshire during October.

In total, 1,137 drivers were clocked breaking the speed limit on roads around the county across the month, an increase of 349 compared to September.

At the time, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson warned drivers to take greater care on the roads during the winter months when conditions may become more dangerous.

They said: “With the nights drawing in earlier, road conditions are changing, and it is crucial to stay alert.

“Be safe. Drive smart. Watch your speed.”
