Seven drop-in sessions will give Swindon residents the chance to connect with their council this December.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by Swindon Borough Council to engage with the community and provide residents with more opportunities to voice their concerns, ask questions, and learn more about the council's initiatives.
These seven sessions are in addition to the three 'Let's Talk Swindon' events scheduled for later this month.
The drop-in events are open to all residents and will be held at various locations across Swindon.
People are welcome to attend at any time during the sessions and discuss local issues or queries regarding council services.
The sessions will be held on Monday, December 2, from 2pm-4pm at Broadgreen Community Centre, Tuesday, December 3, from 10am-midday at Park Library, Wednesday, December 4, from 1pm-3pm at West Swindon Library, and on Thursday, December 5, from 10.30am-12.30pm at John Moulton Hall.
There will then be sessions on Friday, December 6, from 12.15pm-2.15pm at Highworth Library, Monday, December 9, from 11am-1pm at Wroughton Library, and on Friday, December 13, from 12.30pm-2.30pm at Pinetrees Community Centre.
Residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the draft 'Heart of Swindon' document.
This document, created by the council in partnership with private, public, and voluntary sectors, aims to revitalise the town centre.
Once finalised, it will serve as a blueprint for future investments and efforts to transform the town centre from a retail-focused area to a space where people can live, work, socialise, and study.
Meanwhile, places are filling up for the three ‘Let’s Talk Swindon’ residents' events in November where there will be a series of presentations and discussions.
Council leader, councillor Jim Robbins, said: "Over 90 per cent of respondents to our annual resident survey said they are interested in the work of the council and it has been good to see the take-up of places for the two-hour, more structured events in November.
"We set out a clear commitment in the Swindon Plan to improve how we listen to and involve residents in our work, building on the borough-wide engagement activity we organised back in January and February.
"The team from the Local Government Association that we invited in to conduct a peer review noted that engaging in this more proactive and honest way has been welcomed and valued by residents and partners."
