Longleat Center Parcs has asked Wiltshire Council for permission to install “adventure nets” which will allow guests to “play and explore amongst the trees”.
The nets will connect to 2.98m-tall treehouses in “the ideal woodland setting for guests to embrace the natural environment”.
They will be set up over an existing golf course which is due to be removed following the approval and construction of a new adventure golf course positioned closer to the lake and sports plaza.

Images submitted with the plans show families playing up in the trees.
The application states: “This proposal has been thoughtfully designed to ensure the layout of the adventure nets structure and material choices are sympathetic to its surroundings, with minimal impact to the existing woodland environment.
“The proposed structure covers less area than the existing course therefore allowing more of the forest floor to be restored and planted with appropriate native species that will enhance the overall biodiversity of the site.”
A crane will be used to assemble the nets and, according to the plans, disruption to the existing site landscape will be kept to “an absolute minimum and great care will be taken”.
Wiltshire Council is expected to make a decision on this application by the end of December.
