The burglary of a home in Swindon has sparked an unusual police appeal after only one box of old fireworks was taken.

According to Wiltshire Police, a property on Park Lane in Lydiard Millicent was broken into by burglars at some point between 4pm on Friday, November 8 and 9.30am on Saturday, November 9.

But despite the seriousness of the crime, officers believe that only one box of old fireworks was taken.

The incident has now sparked an appeal for more information, as officers search for witnesses in an attempt to make sense of the crime.

Anyone who saw the burglary, or could have doorbell or dashcam footage from the area during that time, should contact the police.

"We are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a property on Park Lane, Lydiard Millicent over the weekend," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
