On its 113th birthday, then-manager Kevin Fitzgerald uncovered a time capsule full of trinkets from times gone by and two customers shaved their heads.
Around the turn of the millennium, the pub carried out a short-lived rebrand of its next-door nightclub Level 3.

For a short while, the indie, rock and metal venue was known as The Furnace before being switched back to the more familiar name.
Subsequent owners changed the name to Underground before their successors switched it to Levels.
