A man from Swindon who has been charged with voyeurism and taking indecent images of a child has made his first appearance in court.

Lee Seagar, of Kingswood Avenue in Park North, was arrested and charged by police relating to multiple voyeurism incidents and recording a private act involving a child between March and May of 2023.

Appearing at Swindon Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, November 13, the 45-year-old faced three charges of “recording another person doing a private act with the intention that he would look at an image of a child doing that act."

The charges state this was allegedly "for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification" and "knowing the other person did not consent.”

He also appeared for one count of “taking an indecent photograph of a child, namely a Category C moving image.”

These alleged crimes took place on two occasions, one in March 2023 and one in May 2023.

However, the case has been deemed as beyond the sentencing powers of the magistrates and has now been sent to Swindon Crown Court where Seagar will enter a plea on December 13.

Until that date, Seagar has been released on conditional bail.
