A Swindon MP has reacted to the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision to not proceed any further with the case related to the death of Harry Parker.
North Swindon Parliamentary representative Will Stone shared a statement on social media after speaking to the 14-year-old’s family.
He said: “I am very sorry to hear of the decision by the Crown Prosecution Service not to proceed with the prosecution in the case of Harry Parker’s death.
“My thoughts are with Harry’s parents, Adam and Kelly, and their whole family at this incredibly difficult time.
“This case rocked our entire community and the decision not to proceed with prosecution will leave many with questions.
“I have contacted the Crown Prosecution Service and organised a meeting to get to the root of why they have chosen not to go ahead with prosecution.
“This has been and will continue to be a difficult process for Harry’s family and friends.
“I will be meeting with both Adam and Kelly in the near future and will support them in any way I can.”
Harry Parker died from injuries sustained when he was hit by a car at the traffic lights near Nova Hreod Academy on Akers Way on November 25, 2022.
All charges against Ivy Mwangi - death by dangerous driving, death by driving without a licence and causing death by driving uninsured – have been dropped.
