A housebuilder is offering free baby safety kits to new parents in Swindon.

Redrow South West will be distributing the complimentary baby safety kits to house-hunters at its Badbury Park development in the town.

The 22-piece kits, available for collection during National Baby Week, will include cupboard and drawer locks, plug socket covers, a multi-purpose latch, corner cushions for sharp furniture edges, door slam stoppers, and a cabinet slide lock.

There are around 40,000 hospital admissions and 450,000 A&E visits annually for children under five due to home accidents, emphasising the need for preventive household measures.

The NHS provides various baby and toddler safety advice, including keeping cleaning products out of reach, using corner protectors on sharp furniture, fitting safety gates on stairs, and securing curtain or blind cords out of reach.

These measures, along with the safety kit items, can help reduce the number of accidents around the home.

The charities RoSPA and Child Accident Prevention Trust are also excellent resources for baby and toddler safety tips around the home.

Sian Smith, sales director for Redrow South West, said: "We understand that ensuring the safety of little ones is a top priority for parents.

"These free kits that we are offering parents for Baby Week provide essential items and guidance to help families establish a safe space as their children grow and explore.

"We look forward to welcoming expecting and new parents to Badbury Park and providing them with these packs."

The packs are limited in number and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visitors are advised to book an appointment with the Redrow team to secure one.

The sales team at Badbury Park will also be available for advice and information on the homes available at the development.

Badbury Park, located on the edge of Coate Water Country Park, offers a mixture of town centre convenience and countryside charm, making it an attractive location for families.

To book an appointment to collect a free baby safety kit, or to find out more about the homes available at Badbury Park, prospective visitors should call 01793 351484.
