A weather warning is in place for the Swindon and Wiltshire area.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice which will affect south west England.
Icy patches are expected to form this evening and overnight.
A Swindon Borough Council spokesperson said: "Please be careful if you’re moving throughout the borough."
A Met Office spokesperson added that the warning for ice across southern parts of England and Wales is in place from 5pm on Tuesday to 10am on Wednesday.
The spokesperson said, referring to what people should expect: "Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, and some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces."
This comes after several hours of snowfall on Tuesday morning which did not settle but left slippery conditions on the ground.
Swindon Borough Council activated its Severe Weather Emergency Protocol to accommodate rough sleepers as the mercury fell below freezing.
Temperatures will range from three degrees Celsius to -2C for the rest of Tuesday, then the maximum temperature will rise slightly to 4C on Wednesday.
The skies should remain cloudy until 8pm before clearing until 3am on Wednesday morning.
Hours of sunshine should melt any ice around the town from 8am onwards.
