A Swindon restaurant that closed earlier this year to relocate has learned its most recent food hygiene rating.

Kenzo 72, located in Godwin Court, Old Town, closed on June 16 earlier this year after being open since 2015.

In August, business partners Kamil Singh and Sukman Limbu announced they had purchased the restaurant from its previous owners and opened their business in Wood Street on September 5.

On October 24, food hygiene inspectors visited the establishment and gave it a rating of three, meaning it was deemed to be generally satisfactory overall.

The restaurant is open seven days a week and specialises in steak and cocktails, but they have recently launched a Sunday roast menu.

Kamil told the Advertiser in August: “Kenzo wasn’t coming back, it's only coming back because of the public. There was so much interaction after the closure announcement that we thought we needed to bring it back, and this was the best way."

He added: "But the aim is for everything to be better, we want to improve the quality of the food that people remember from Kenzo, we want to enhance the flavour.”

Kenzo 72 was approached for comment.
