The council is investigating a Swindon car valeting business five months after its opening.

Northside Valeting Centre in Haydon Wick aroused concerns from locals due to ambiguity over the business’ planning permission and the noise produced by a pressure washer on site.

A spokesperson for Swindon Borough Council said: “We’re aware of the concerns from residents and are in the process of investigating any potential issues.”

The business has been run by Goran Amin since it opened in June, at Greenmeadow Service Station opposite the Cross Street garage on Thames Avenue.

But residents are reportedly unhappy with the noise coming from the car wash and ambiguity over planning permission.

One local, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “The jet wash being used is absolutely unnecessary and the noise it makes is a joke, it sounds more like a jet plane and you can hear it all around the neighbourhood."

Concerns were reported to Haydon Wick Parish Council, who have acknowledged the complaint and have since tried to cooperate with the valeting centre in submitting a planning application.

There is currently no planning application process underway under the company’s name or address on Swindon Borough Council’s planning system.

The nearby resident said: “The people who work there have no concern for anyone else, and they haven’t listened to the locals or the Council.”

Northside Valeting Centre has been approached for comment.

Speaking when the centre opened in July, owner Goran Amin said: “My staff are friendly and experienced, spend more time on the cars than other places, use top-quality products to wash and wax, and I check each vehicle myself after they’re finished to make sure it’s up to our high standard."

Mr Amin had previously managed a car wash on Corporation Street for six years.
