It's been all smiles and celebrations at a primary school in Swindon after staff and pupils received top marks in their latest Ofsted report.

The Croft Primary School, on Marlborough Lane in Swindon, has been described as fostering "exemplary" behaviour for learning, according to inspectors at the education regulating body Ofsted.

The school has been rated 'Outstanding' across all five areas being assessed, and inspectors could not find anything they didn't like.

"Pupils thrive at The Croft Primary School," reads Ofsted's latest glowing review, published on November 21, 2024.

"Staff care deeply for all pupils and give them every chance to succeed and to shine.

"The ‘Croftie’ values lie at the heart of the school and pupils strive every day to embody these and ‘be a Croftie’."

Inspectors particularly highlighted the school's work with SEND pupils, who they say achieve "exceptionally well."

"Pupils with SEND experience the same curriculum as their peers and staff skilfully adapt their teaching to meet pupils’ needs," the report reads.

"All pupils relish the wide range of opportunities to assume leadership responsibility.

"For example, pupils can be house captains, sports captains, head pupils and part of the ‘Croftie Crew’, and there is an active pupil parliament."

Provisional outcomes for 2024 show that pupils at the primary school attain significantly above national averages.

According to inspectors, this is not only due to the "rich and ambitious curriculum", but also the love of reading for pleasure that is embedded into the school.

"We are very proud to have received an ‘Outstanding’ rating in all areas and I am thrilled that this report recognises what it means to be a ‘Croftie’," said headteacher Ms Murphy.

“This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of our entire school community - our staff, pupils and their parents and carers, and our governors.

“We will all continue to work tirelessly to provide the best possible educational experience for our children and to ensure we remain a school where every child thrives.

Dr Dan Nicholls, CEO of The White Horse Federation, added: “This glowing report reflects just how remarkable and amazing The Croft Primary School is.

“Congratulations to all our colleagues, pupils, parents, carers and everyone at The Croft Primary School.

"We should all be very proud of this achievement, it is very well deserved."
