A man who tried to order a takeaway was held by the throat in Swindon.
The victim tried to order food from the shop on Cricklade Road at around 10.30pm on September 20 but was told they had closed.
The hungry person told police he was annoyed at this - but was then attacked by a man who held him by the throat.
The police have been checking CCTV and understand there were a number of witnesses inside the takeaway who would have seen this happen.
They are asking anyone who could help to come forward.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses following an assault at a takeaway on Cricklade Road, Swindon.
“At around 10.30pm on September 20, the victim tried to order food from the venue but was later told they had closed.
“The victim reports that he felt annoyed and was then assaulted by a man who held him by the throat.
“It is believed there were several people inside the venue at the time who will have seen what happened.
“Since the incident officers have been carrying out CCTV enquiries.
“We appreciate the incident happened some time ago but would like to speak to anyone who was inside the venue at the time and could help with our enquiries.
