Great Western Rail has advised anyone using the service today to complete their journey by 7pm, with more extreme rain forecast.

The train service between London Paddington and Cardiff/Swansea is operating as a reduced service along a diverted route, adding an extra 30 minutes to the journey time.

A spokesperson for GWR said: "Services continue to recover across the Great Western network after flooding blocked a key number of routes.

"Further heavy rain is forecast for the GWR network. Customers are advised to complete their journey by 1900 this evening (Tuesday 26 November).

The service between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads is in operation after a landslide and flooding had caused the line between Swindon and Bristol Parkway to be closed yesterday morning.

However, certain trains on this service are listed as being 'extremely busy'.

Newbury station also has a reduced service today with some platforms remaining closed due to the flooding.

Services travelling between London Paddington and Plymouth/Penzance have resumed, although the sleeper service will not run this evening in either direction.

Customers who are travelling by train today can use tickets for yesterday, today and Wednesday (25-27 November), including on peak-time services, and can also claim a full, fee-free refund on the GWR website.
