A Swindon strip club will carry out improvement work after successfully getting its license renewed.

Earlier this month, the Dream Lounge sought permission from Swindon Borough Council to continue trading between the hours of 10pm and 6am Tuesday to Sunday by providing "(adult) relevant entertainment, music and dancing".

The venue at the bottom of Victoria Road has since had its licensing application approved and is now preparing for an end-of-year revamp which will temporarily close the site for a few days after Christmas.

Its 10th birthday party, which had to be cancelled earlier in the year, is also being rescheduled.

Operations director Charlotte Mifsud said: "After a challenging year for us, we are pleased that we have had a positive result with the renewal of our licence.

"We are looking forward to the Christmas period and the New Year.

"We have some exciting plans for the future.

"We will be closed from Sunday, December 29 until Tuesday, January 7, in order for us to make some improvements to the venue.

"We would like to thank all of our colleagues and customers for their continued support."

The Dream Lounge has been in business for more than 10 years and describes itself as being discrete, relaxed and welcoming, with a modern and newly-refurbished interior, popular DJs, and exclusive events.
