Neighbours have been left “worried” after police swarmed a residential street in Swindon.

Around half a dozen police cars were spotted on Eastmere, near Liden Lagoon, at around 7am on Thursday, November 28.

At this stage, Wiltshire Police has not confirmed the reason for its large presence on the road.

A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Adver that they were woken dramatically by officers entering an address on the street.

They added: “We heard all this banging and woke up to see police lights, then we saw police had smashed a door down.

“There were about seven police cars there and they’re still there now, it looks like a dog unit is there as well.

“People are really worried, they want to know what's going on because we don't feel too good about it.

“Most of the neighbours are elderly and there are families too, it’s been really horrible because normally we’re a nice neighbourhood.”

The resident added that multiple neighbours have previously raised concerns about anti-social behaviour in the area.

They said: “There have been cars racing up and down during the night and I’ve seen guys in balaclavas heading off to Liden Lagoon.”
