A “threatening” man has admitted to carrying a meat cleaver around Swindon without a good reason.
Donald Scott, 57, of Woodhouse Road, Walcot, also admitted to using threatening behaviour or words and carrying drugs.
He appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on November 26 after a warrant was issued for his arrest for failing to turn up at court.

Court documents record he already pleaded guilty to using “threatening or abusive words or behaviour” on July 9, and later having the typical butcher’s knife in Cavendish Square on July 27 “without good reason or lawful authority”.
Lastly, he was caught with herbal cannabis, a class B drug in Swindon on August 2. Another alleged offence, of carrying a claw hammer was withdrawn.
He was given unconditional bail while a presentencing report is compiled by the probation service.
He is due to be sentenced at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on January 10, 2025.
