The following cases were heard at Swindon Magistrates Court earlier this week.
TOOTHILL: Paul Gaff, of Kirkstall Close, has been sentenced for theft.
The 46-year-old indicated a plea of guilty to stealing a woman’s large QVC handbag worth £59.92 in Swindon on April 23, 2024.
He must pay the value of the stolen goods back in compensation along with £85 in court costs.
SWINDON: William Arnold, of no fixed abode, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit along Thornhill Road on November 10, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath - namely 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - exceeded the prescribed limit.
He has been banned from driving for 36 months, fined £1,000, and ordered to pay £85 in court costs plus £400 to fund victim services.
MOTORWAY: Kali Bartley, of Humes Avenue in Ealing, has been sentenced for drug driving.
The 45-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a BMW 420D along the M4 westbound near Swindon on August 19, 2024, when the proportion of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood, namely 3.2 micrograms of drug per litre of blood, exceeded the specified limit.
The defendant has been banned from driving for 12 months. A separate drug driving offence committed after this one has already been dealt with.

MOTORWAY: Joshua Coles, of Lyndhurst Road in Chesham, has been sentenced for drug driving.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta along the M4 westbound near Chippenham on August 31, 2024, while having 4.1 micrograms of Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol per litre of blood in his system.
The defendant also admitted to possessing the Class A drug MDMA and the Class B drug cannabis on the same date. The illegal substances have since been forfeited and destroyed.
He has been banned from driving for 12 months, fined £300 altogether, and ordered to pay £85 in court cost plus £192 to fund victim services.
RODBOURNE CHENEY: Mario Mazzotta, of Wiltshire Avenue, has been sentenced for driving while disqualified.
The 43-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a BMW 118 along Spring Gardens after being banned from driving, and without having insurance on August 20, 2024.
He received a community order that requires him to carry out up to 20 rehabilitation activity days in the next 12 months as well as pay a £40 fine, £85 in court costs and £114 to fund victim services.
The defendant received six penalty points on his driving licence.
MOTORWAY: Philip Holmes, of Ridgeway Close in Moredon, has been sentenced for a driving offence.
The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit along the M4 westbound near Swindon while disqualified on July 17, 2024.
He has been banned from driving for six more months, received a community order that requires him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months, and pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.
EASTLEAZE: Andrei Baroi, of Stonefield Close, has been sentenced for drink driving.
The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a VW Polo along Ferndale Road on November 10, 2024, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 126 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
He has been banned from driving for 26 months and must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months as well as pay £85 in court costs plus £114 to fund victim services.
