The opening date for Swindon’s newest Greggs has been revealed.
The Parade Greggs was given permission by Swindon Borough Council to expand into the two neighbouring units, which have been empty since the charity shop Swindon Sister’s Alliance moved out of the space on September 21.
Last month, the bakery chain confirmed the new store would be set to open by the end of November, but work is still underway to get the shop up and running.

Signs are already in the neighbouring shop window and the counter is already in place while the finishing touches are made to the store.

The original Greggs store is still open to customers as usual, but a sign has been placed on the front door informing them that they will be closed on Wednesday, December 4 from 11am ready to move into the new store, which is set to open at 6am on Thursday, December 5.
Work on the expanded Greggs store began promptly after Emma King, who was gifted the unit for her charity shop in 2020, closed down the business.
Before this, it was a space that offered support to victims of domestic violence in memory of Emma’s sister Julie Butcher, who was murdered by her husband in 2005.
