More plans have been revealed for a former historic pub in Wroughton.
Woodview Estates management has put in an application to be allowed to use the car park of the Check Inn in Woodland View for five office units and five storage units.
It already has an application submitted to be able to turn the pub building itself into five terraced houses.
On the northern boundary of the site, the company wants to build five two-storey storage units made of brick with metal cladding in green. Each unit would have a large steel roller door plus an ordinary door facing the main car park area, with a door at the rear and windows to the upper floor.
Each unit also features a smack kitchen area and a toilet. Two of the units are smaller than the others owing to the angled nature of the site.
Along the southern boundary of the site would be single-storey office units, in a terrace of five, constructed from the same materials as the storage units, with larger windows at the front and a door at both rear and front.

Bike storage, a small kitchen and a lavatory will be constructed at the back of the units.
There will be 23 parking spaces provided with two accessible and two electric vehicle charging spaces for the new units.
The application emphasises the green credentials of the scheme, saying it will: “Incorporate a framework of tree and shrub planting, enhancing the biodiversity of the site by establishing rich and diverse habitat types and creating new planting. Hedging will be used extensively, with additional planting, creating defined boundaries to the properties and therefore, creating ‘defensible’ space.”
It adds that the buildings will feature bat access panels, giving the animals somewhere to roost, as well as swift bricks and even the fences will have ‘hedgehog gaps’ allowing access in and out for the small mammals.”
The Check Inn was closed by brewery Fullers in April 2023 and sold in July to Venture24 Holdings.
The plans for the houses would see an existing extension to the pub demolished, but another two-storey extension would be constructed. Each house would have two bedrooms.
