A woman has been arrested in Swindon after over 40 designer handbags have been seized.
On Thursday morning, November 28, officers from Wiltshire Police had been following a drugs-related lead when they came across an expensive haul of designer items from North Swindon, all believed to have been stolen.
According to officers, the items, which have now been seized, included more than 40 expensive handbags, clutches, purses, belts and giftboxes.
These were branded as being from high-end companies such as Fendi Gucci and Dior, although it is unclear if they are real or fakes.
A 51-year-old woman from Abbey Meads has now been arrested following the discovery.
The woman, who has now yet been named, has been questioned by police in Swindon in connection to money laundering and being involved in the supply of Class B drugs.
She has now been released on bail while investigations continue.
"It was ‘handbags at dawn’ this week for the team as we seized a haul of designer bags and accessories in North Swindon," commented a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
"The team now have to investigate if these really are Fendi, Gucci and Dior, or if they’re Louis Futon and Dolce & Banana knock-offs."
