A Swindon-based medical device company is set to host a Christmas fair at an iconic building that has featured in two James Bond films.

The Pierre Simonet Building, home to Vygon UK, is welcoming the community for an evening of festive activities on Thursday, December 5.

This building, opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998, will be the backdrop for the event, which will run from 4pm to 8pm.

All proceeds raised will be donated to two local charities, Threshold, and Age UK Wiltshire.

Threshold supports homeless and vulnerable individuals in Swindon while Age UK Wiltshire provides services to older residents in Swindon and Wiltshire.

The fair will have a variety of stalls from more than 50 local businesses and vendors, including Karpinski Art Design, Nesso Gifts, White Horse Soap Company, Let’s Glow Aromatherapy, Glitterbomb Glitter Artists, Vylais Crystals, FurwebsMarket, StoryStop and Mama’s Sweet Treats.

The stalls will offer a range of items, from bath and beauty products to handmade jewellery and toys, ideal for Christmas gifts.

Visitors can also enjoy seasonal treats, including mulled wine, as they browse the stalls.

Katie Kingston, head of marketing and communications at Vygon UK, said: "The holidays can be one of the toughest times of the year for people facing homelessness, and it is also a time when the elderly feel most isolated and lonely.

"Threshold and Age UK Wiltshire offer incredible support to the homeless, elderly and vulnerable, not just during the holidays but all year round.

"At Vygon, we are committed to giving back to the community that we are part of, and we are proud to host this event to help spread some festive cheer and support these vital services."

The event is open to the entire community, with Vygon UK calling on Swindon residents to join for an evening of celebration and giving.
