Mr Ballinger, prosecuting, said he believed the parties involved were known to each other and the catalyst for the incident was an issue between their families, but there was “little to no provocation” for Walsh’s alleged outburst.

The charge of grievous bodily harm is indictable only, meaning the case must be sent to Swindon Crown Court for sentencing, but Mr Ballinger argued that Walsh should not be granted bail in the meantime for fear of further offending or witness intimidation.
No plea was entered but Mr Morgan, defending, said it would have been a guilty plea from Walsh.
Walsh will be remanded in custody until his next hearing at Swindon Crown Court on January 17, 2025.
