Jeremy Clarkson has responded to sensational speculation that he has been arrested by police.
The former Top Gear host has recently opened a new pub, The Farmer’s Dog, in Asthall near Burford in Oxfordshire after buying The Windmill for around £1,000,000.
He also owns Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington near Chipping Norton where the popular Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm is set.
Aside from his pub and farm, Mr Clarkson recently attended a farmer’s protest in London where his appearance made headlines.
Now just two weeks later there are rumours circling online that the Grand Tour star has been arrested.
This speculation has been spotted across YouTube videos as well as social media such as X leading to one X user asking Mr Clarkson if he really had been arrested.
“Why are we seeing you tube videos claiming you were arrested, Jeremy Clarkson,” she said.
“Please reassure us it's BS!”
Mr Clarkson said: “Pretty sure I wasn’t. It’s the kind of thing you notice. Some of the reported “footage” showing Mr Clarkson talking to police and appearing to be “arrested” actually came from a prank which occurred a couple of years ago.
TV presenters Ant and Dec staged a fake protest at Mr Clarkson’s farm back in 2022 which saw fake police officers arrive and pretend to arrest the 64-year-old only for the joke to then be revealed.
