A charity is offering people the chance to help those struggling with mental health.

Willows Counselling, in Swindon, is inviting people to donate a star on their Christmas tree to fund counselling sessions for those unable to access support otherwise.

Willows sees an increase in referrals during December and January as people face loneliness, depression, loss, and anxiety more acutely during the festive period.

The charity is committed to providing affordable services, with 85 per cent of its weekly 60 counselling sessions subsidised to some extent.

The team, specialising in trauma and abuse counselling, ensures that financial constraints do not hinder anyone in need of expert therapeutic support.

Denise Brent, Co-CEO of Willows, said: "Christmas can be a difficult time for lots of us.

"Whilst many families enjoy the joys of festive cheer and celebration, others are faced with the reality of loss, bereavement, and isolation.

"It is also a time where a great number of people become overloaded with the burden of financial pressures.

"Giving a gift to Willows this Christmas will support people facing the emotional challenges of bereavement, depression, loss, abuse, and depression.

"If you are able, please do join us in supporting others this festive period."

Donations of £5 or more can fund a star on the Willows tree.
