A story this week I heard out of the USA tickled me.
A man’s neighbour was being burgled and when the homeowner caught and challenged the robber, he fled.
Now the man having heard a commotion was about to peep over his fence when the burglar appeared, about to cross the fence. So naturally enough the good ole American boy, told said burglar if he set foot into his garden he would shoot him. So said burglar did and said good ole American boy, kept his word.
My favourite part of the story was after the event. The local sheriff, another good ole boy, was interviewed. He was asked what he thought of a citizen shooting dead an alleged felon. His answer was a one line, three-word corker. 'Damn fine job!'
Does anyone else wish our cops were so enlightened?
