How’s everybody getting on with the wheelie bins and all the recycling palaver? Isn’t it great that they are only emptying them once a fortnight and no doubt will still want to increase our council tax/legalized robbery when the time comes round? In the summertime I will be going into the fisherman’s supplies business as a maggot seller. Mind you, the market may be swamped.
In these days of religious recycling they seem to be rather picky on what they want us to recycle, i.e., plastic milk bottles but not the plastic lids or coffee jars but not their lids. How’s that?
I think I have invented a new form of peaceful protest, in that I like to place cans in the bottle bag and recyclable stuff in the general waste wheelie bin. It’s a rush, but often foiled by the ever present will of ‘The Missus’ who is a recycling zealot. But getting away with it beats ‘her’ and the system.
In the spirit of not condoning such actions of mindless stupidity, I urge you not to imitate this. (Actually I might urge this, but I’m sure I should not under some terrorism law). I’m not too dedicated, plus if I encourage law breaking or even the odd byelaw, I might get bumped from here/sent to Guantanimo. Then how would you know what to think!)?
Yesterday, I got caught by the grumpy towers feds putting a plastic ketchup bottle and a dog food can in the normal rubbish bin.
It felt good when I did it but bad when I was caught. On balance my reputation as an anarchist was improved, so it was worth it. I just dont understand why 'she' is so easily able to catch me.
I have to say I’m a sceptic as well as a protester. The costs involved in collecting waste in this fashion cannot be cost effective can it? We accept all this, thinking we are doing our bit, I’m not sure this is correct.
It’s the same as how we all accept 'green taxes' as a necessary evil. If anyone can explain why paying more for petrol, cars, flying and the like is going to make any real difference, I 'd like to know. The tax taken doesn’t seem to be being spent countering so-called green issues. I don’t think it is but we accept it because we are told it’s right. As usual we do nothing about it.
The latest 'tax it tax it' recently I already mentioned, was do gooders on alcohol. ‘Da youff’ are drinking too much, so they want booze prices increased to combat this. So, the upshot would be we all have to pay more to price alcohol out of the reach of ‘da youff' ...yeah right!
The local off'y that’s flogging the cider to the oinks is going to be laughing all the way to the cash and carry. Anyway, I have been on this one before so will rest it here. But it has to be said, we are being brainwashed into accepting all this guff.
Protest! Drink as much as you can before they get their way. (Unless you are a youff.) Alternatively, chuck a can in the bottle-bank.
I SAY NO!! And everybody is entitled to my opinion.
