In the bottom left of the picture is the Savoy cinema and as a lad of 12 or so my friend Ross and I would attend an evening performance.
This after purchasing an uncut white loaf, which we would consume at the flicks, eating the inside first and possibly throwing some of the crust at the screen during the romantic scenes.
At the right middle is a street (can’t remember the name) where my mother and I caught the bus to Lydiard Park Estate. This was the Bristol bus company, all green.
There was only a limited service into the park, perhaps three times a week, otherwise we caught the Bassett bus and walked over a mile down the lane to the estate.
