Tesco has jumped a step closer to becoming a one-stop shop with the launch of a range of horse-riding equipment.
The competitively priced range of 25 products for horse and rider will be on sale in 150 stores for five weeks beginning May 11, although the Swindon Extra store is not expected to be one of them.
"The reason we're introducing it is to make a pastime that's very popular more affordable," said a Tesco spokeswoman.
"It's for people starting out in the sport. It's the essential selection with all the core elements at fantastic value."
Tesco's ladies' jodhpur boots are priced at £24.92, and riding helmets at £34.97.
Other items include brushes, head collars and bandages, starting from £1.47.
Specialist tack shops typically sell jodhpurs for between £25 to £75 and helmets cost from £30 to £250. The British Equestrian Trade Association says the horsey market is worth an estimated £4bn a year.
