A 23-YEAR-OLD Londoner has been remanded in custody after being convicted of drug dealing offences in Swindon.

Richard James, from Brixton, south London, admitted having heroin and cocaine with intent to supply on Thursday February 2.

A second man, Steven Malcolm, pleaded not guilty to the same charges when they appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court.

Malcolm, 24, also of Brixton, was also remanded in custody and will now face trial by jury.

The case was adjourned to a trial date to be fixed. James will be sentenced after the trial.

The charges were laid after a police raid on a flat in Old Town in February which recovered thousands of pounds of drugs and an imitation handgun.

At the time police said they had mounted a surveillance operation on the flat for almost a year.
