EVERYONE who contributed to the Pipers Area Residents' Association's appeal for renovating the Old Town bandstand is being thanked.

The committee members will be handing over a cheque for £5,075 at the Mayor's Parlour tomorrow.

The money was collected thanks to donations from local residents and businesses.

Association chairman Gareth Cole will present the cheque to Swindon Mayor Ray Fisher at 5pm.

Work to renovate the Victorian structure began back in September after months of fundraising and donations.

An official ceremony was held in the Town Gardens in April to mark the completion of the project.
