A MAN has admitted taking illicit pictures of children at the Oasis and the Milton Road swimming baths.

William Pollard, 52, pleaded guilty to making seven indecent images of children between September 2003 and September last year.

At Swindon Crown Court he also admitted to making a video recording of children during the same period of time. He pleaded not guilty to a charge of voyeurism by making a video recording in the changing rooms at the Oasis on September 2 last year.

It is said that he took the footage of a private act which was a family changing after they had been to the pool.

Pollard, of Pleydells, Cricklade, also pleaded not guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children by downloading from the internet.

The case was adjourned to May 19 and Pollard was released on bail.

A Swindon Council spokeswoman said: "We are aware of the alleged incident regarding a customer's behaviour at two of our centres and have been working closely with the police.

"However, as the matter is now with the courts, it would not be appropriate for us to comment at this stage."
