DRIVERS are facing more delays in Wootton Bassett.
Roadworks on the High Street have been extended and there is now a three-way temporary traffic light system at the mini-roundabout, which is causing delays.
The roadworks began in March and are expected to continue for four months.
Wessex Water is carrying out major work on sewers beneath the High Street.
The company is sorting out a long-standing flood problem on the road.
A one-way system is in operation until August 6.
Traffic is only able to travel north along the High Street.
A diversion has been set up for traffic travelling southbound and signs warn motorists of the restriction.
Police are now warning motorists that there will be queues at peak times with the new temporary traffic lights.
Tailbacks were quick to form last night as people made their way home from work.
Business owners in the town have been keen to give out the message that the town's shops remain open throughout the work.
