HOURS of hard work in the wet have paid off for Toothill Youth Group and executives from BP.
The group has transformed Toothill Farm, in Bodiam Drive and it has just been officially opened by Swindon Mayor Ray Fisher.
The site, which is undergoing a £12,000 revamp, is being transformed into a base for the youth service and a number of children's groups, including Toothill Youth Club.
Volunteers built sandpits, laid paths and put up fence posts to spruce up the site.
And, as part of the project, BP employees from as far afield as Bangkok and Chicago helped with the makeover.
Mavis Read, the treasurer of the youth club, said: "It all went fantastically.
"The mayor officially opened the garden and then helped a couple of the children open the Wendy house, which has been christened Teddybear Cottage, and the sandpit."
And the generosity of BP continued.
"At the end of the evening Robert Lawson, who was the team leader, said they were donating a further £1,500 to us to help finish off the decoration and refurbishment of the farmhouse," she said.
"It was a lovely surprise."
