WILTSHIRE is bringing record numbers of offences to justice, it has been revealed.
According to figures published at the end of April, the county has exceeded its target for bringing cases to court two years earlier than expected.
Since the end of December, 11,756 offences have been brought to court in the county.
This is an increase of 10.3 per cent since March 2002.
And public confidence in the Criminal Justice System has also been given a boost from 42 per cent in March 2002 to 48 per cent in December 2005.
Diana Fulbrook, the chairwoman of Wiltshire Criminal Justice Board, said: "The results reflect the hard work and dedication of all of the criminal justice agencies and their staff.
"By meeting the offences brought to justice target earlier than expected, the local criminal justice agencies have demonstrated their determination to do all they can to make Wiltshire a safer place to live."
