A WOMAN has thanked the nursing home that helped her mum celebrate her 100th birthday.
May Isted, who lives at Churchview nursing home in Stratone Village, reached the milestone on Wednesday.
Her daughter Jane Blackwell, of Liden, said her mum would not have reached 100 without the care she has received at the home.
"They really went to a lot of trouble and effort," she said.
"They put on a party for her and many of the other residents who wanted to come and her family.
"She had a wonderful day and I can't thank them enough.
"She has been there nearly five years and she wouldn't have made her 100th birthday without them.
"The care is excellent. She is so well looked after by all the staff and nurses."
May has eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren, living in countries as far afield as Spain, Australia and Israel.
"Not all of the family could be there on the day, but she had a lovely time nonetheless, and we are very grateful she was able to enjoy it.''
