THE daughter of a former Swindon policeman who was stabbed to death has backed a knife amnesty.
As reported in yesterday's Adver police are encouraging people to dump their blades at Gablecross police station and the town centre police point in Linden Court.
Milroy Clarke and his wife Joan were killed in a savage knife attack on December 6, 2004.
Their 21-year-old son Michael Clarke was sentenced to life imprisonment in February this year after being found guilty of their murder.
Milroy's daughter, Sarah Leyfield, of Wootton Bassett said: "The events which happened on Monday, December 6, 2004, at 57 Berryfield Park in Melksham, will be forever remembered by the family, friends and neighbours of Milroy and Joan Clarke who were cruelly and savagely taken from us on that fateful day.
"I would appeal to every young person thinking of carrying or using a knife and also to the families and friends of these young people.
I have lost my father and stepmother and don't want anyone else to suffer in the same way."
