THERE was fun in the aisles of a Swindon supermarket.
The tills were bleeping, and the shelves were being stacked but there were still big smiles at the Somerfield supermarket, in Gorse Hill, as they raised money for children's hospices.
Customers got in on the act by having their faces painted, naming a giant teddy bear and watching as staff cut their hair to raise money for the Association Of Children's Hospices, which helps fund Naomi House, in Winchester and Helen House, in Oxford.
Bill Edwards, who runs the home delivery and promotions department said: "Somerfield supermarkets all over the country aim to raise as much money as possible for these hospices.
"Some staff go on bike rides, other have collections but we like to get the customers involved.
"We have had raffles, face painting, guess the name of the teddy bear and lots of competitions.
"It's been a lot of fun."
