WILTSHIRE Wildlife Trust has added its name to a campaign against climate change.
The trust has joined those from Avon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Dorset, Cornwall, Devon and the Isles of Scilly in pushing a lifestyle that uses as little energy as possible.
The project, called the Big Switch, will see events based around the themes of using sustainable transport, buying local food, using less energy at home and cutting waste.
There will be a concerted effort during the week starting Saturday, June 17.
South West Wildlife Trust's director, Simon Brennan, said: "The Big Switch is all about inspiring people to choose from a range of specific pledges ahead of Big Switch week.
"We can all make a difference to climate change and reduce carbon emissions without having a hard time.
"People can save money by reducing household bills in the process."
There is a website at which residents can pledge their support for the push, and gain some tips about what to do.
