FOR some children, as they get older they turn their backs on books.
But Churchfields School is trying to reverse this trend and inject some of the fun back into reading.
They have been holding an all school readathon.
And it's been a big success.
School librarian Pat Ekins said: "A lot of older children do not read very much so this was a great way for us to encourage them.
"We have had every pupil in the school reading something, from books to newspapers and magazines."
And the pupils have taken to their new pastime with great enthusiasm, eagerly racing into the library to find out what they can get stuck into.
