SCHOOL pupils across Wiltshire are being given the chance to attend a green festival to learn about global warming.
The five-day Sunrise Summer Solstice Celebration takes place from June 16 to 21 on land in Somerset, just off the A303 main route from the West Country to London. It is taking advantage of the absence of the Glastonbury Festival and is being organised by an ethical events production company set up to teach communities how to live in harmony with the environment. The event is being mainly powered by sustainable and bio sources, has a minimum 80 per cent organic policy for all food and drink, uses composting toilets throughout the site, has on-site horse-drawn transport.
Family Gathering company director, Sun Bird, said: "We are committed to providing safe and pleasurable event experiences with an ecological stance so as to educate, inform, and entertain.
"Children hear a lot about global warming but they do not often have a chance to actually see the real thing for themselves."
School parties can visit the site for free.
Reduced-price advance tickets are available by calling 01458 831358.
